Lakeside Christian Centre
Our Foundation
At Lakeside Christian Centre over the years we have set into action our dreams and aspirations, and in the book of Habakuk 2:2 the prophet tells us this important principle, "write the vision and make it plain on tablets that he may run that reads it".
As a church have we had a miraculous and blessed time as we have pursued our vision in God. At the beginning in November 1982 in the CWA Hall on Griffith Street, Coolangatta we ministered under the banner of Coolangatta Christian Fellowship. It was there we felt the Spirit of God leading us to a destiny to impact the south end of the Gold Coast; consequently we began to build a platform of faith and began to grow in numbers and maturity. September 1984 saw us move into the Senior Citizens hall where we continued to grow. At this time the church opened its office full-time in the main street, where we held Bible College and mid-week functions. In February 1986 we had our official opening at the newly renovated building that was formerly the Gilltraps Museum, which became our Spiritual Home for seven years. Ironically it was seven years to the day that we moved into our present complex at Caloola Drive.
In 1996 we felt led by the Holy Spirit to move in a slightly different direction to fulfil our destiny in God. International Apostolic Ministries was registered with the Attorney General's Department and once again we began to plant other churches. The I.A.M. today is a growing movement that has linked us to many ministries on a global scale.
This wonderful achievement was made possible by a progressive vision and a wonderful group of people that could believe in a dream and trust in their God. Today we stand at the start of a whole new adventure in God: with new challenges, larger mountains to climb, and together we can achieve it.
Jesus said "All things are possible to them that believe"
